Washington Biotechnology, Inc. was established in August 1988. With Headquarters and Laboratories located in Columbia, Maryland, the Company is a leading CRO for drug development services including a wide variety of disease model studies as well as PK and toxicity services. Major service areas are:
- Preclinical In Vivo Efficacy Testing of compounds in many disease models including inflammatory diseases, cancer and bacterial infection.
- Vaccine testing services including vaccine efficacy testing in disease model studies such as arthritis.
- Bacterial efficacy studies in mice and rats to determine antibiotic efficacy.
- Pharmacokinetics and related in vivo tests.
Our technical staff has a combined 70+ years of experience in drug and vaccine development services for efficacy and safety.
Washington Biotechnology places great emphasis on project management and close communications with clients throughout a project. Beginning with custom protocol development through weekly project status reports to a detailed and complete Final Report, we stress client communications at every step of a study.

Sean O'Neill, PhD, MBA Founder, President and Director of Operations
Dr. O'Neill is the Founder, President and Director of Operations for Washington Biotechnology, Inc.
Prior to founding WBI, Dr. O'Neill was Vice President of Immunodiagnostics for Pharmacia Diagnostics, Columbia, MD. Previous positions held with Electro-Nucleonics/ Pharmacia Diagnostics included Director of Product Development, Director of Manufacturing and Research & Development, and General Manager of Immunodiagnostics. Dr. O'Neill led the development and licensing of major diagnostic tests for AIDS and hepatitis and has over 100 publications in enzyme catalysis, immunology and immunodiagnostics.
Dr. O'Neill holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Toronto and an MBA from the American University, Washington D.C. |
